MAY 17 2008,SATURDAY
Wilroy had surgery yesterday (Friday) and he is doing
wonderfully. If everything goes well he will be going home Monday after the
staples are removed. He is thanking God numerous times a day for being alive.
His arms and hands are looking so much better. The doctor is amazed at his
progress. Wilroy and the family want you to pray that the surgery will be a
success. As of present he is taking no pain medication, and he has been thanking
God especially for that today also.
Keep sending those prayers his way they are working.
He is now in room 312.
Thanks!!!!!

Sorry for the delay in the update, Friday Sissy and the nurses talked the doctor into letting Wilroy go home. He is wrapping and dressing his leg every four days. Monday [today} the doctor said that the leg was looking better.

Hoping to go home and spend time with his family, Wilroy was very
disappointed when the doctor came in and told him that the infection was better,
but not good enough to go home. The nurse said that the infection had eaten away
at the graft and another surgery may have to be done. Sissy and the children
plan on visiting the whole weekend with him. The doctor gave him the OK to go to
cafeteria and even outside to sit in the sun which would make Wilroy a little
happier. Being in the hospital 3 weeks today is wearing on his nerves. He seems
to be weaker than normal, but having his children visiting will definitely boost
his spirits,
Thanks so much for your prayers!

Today Wilroy had a good day. His spirits have been up, but he is still ready
to go home. The doctor came in and said that he will unwrap his leg and make a
decision of his progress tomorrow, Thursday afternoon. He had a nice therapist
friend come from Duncan and give him a back and foot massage. He said it was so
relaxing.
He has walked down the hall numerous times today, and did a few exercises on his
leg and has also slept a lot today. Every time he has a pain or cramp he says,
Thank you Jesus. Please keep your comments coming they are being read to him
every day!

Wilroy was very disappointed Monday. The doctor said he
has developed staph infection in his burnt leg. They are administering
antibiotics trying to take care of the problem. They plan on keeping it wrapped
up until Thursday and then the doctor will examine the leg to determine the
progress. His donor leg has finally quit hurting him, although it still feels
tight and uncomfortable.
He's very tired of the bed and weary but is trying to walk a little to keep down
the soreness. His hospital stay will be a few days longer than he thought. Keep
those comments coming. They are being read to him every so often. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in
the update. Wilroy has had a few bad days since the graft on his leg. He was
going to get to come home Friday, but the doctor wanted him to wait a few more
days. So if everything goes well we hope to have him home Monday, but he will
have to make 2 trips a week to have his leg and arms dressed. We want to thank
all who have called, come by, or kept us in their prayers. With your prayers and
support it has made this time in our lives bearable.
Again, Thank You,
From the Family Of Wilroy Keck

Wilroy has had a rough couple of days. Where they took
the skin graph is like another second degree burn. He has a rash on his back
that is causing him some discomfort. Sissie stayed in a hotel last night while
Debra and Brian stayed with Wilroy. He is keeping his fingers limber by doing
exercises with them.
Thank you for all the prayers all of the family appreciates them!
Love,
Wilroy's Daughter Whitney Gayler

Wilroy went into surgery at 2:30 p.m. He came out about 5:00 p.m.. Everything went well. Grafting was done on the right thigh. They took the material for the grafting from the left thigh. The doctor said that it would be very painful for a while. However he will come through very well. He will have to lay flat for 3 days. All company is welcome. From this point on it is a waiting game. Thank you for all the calls and prayers.

Surgery is scheduled for Friday
April 18th. They will do skin grafts
on his inner right leg from his hip
to his knee, hoping that below his
knee to his ankle will heal on its
own. God performed a miracle on his
arms, they are healing up on their own.
Wilroy would like to express
to all friends and family how much
he appreciates the love and prayers!
Today, Thursday was a tough day
but he is progressing nicely!
Again thanks for everything!

It has been a couple up days since the last update. Wilroy has been running some fever. They thought that he might need a feeding tube since he could not eat with out getting sick. Now, 'Thank the Lord' they are not going to have too. They decided that he was getting too much protein, and now he is eating. The Doctor is going to be in today. It will be Friday before they scrub him down to see if the skin graph will be put off till Monday.
Thanks

Wilroy had a bad day Saturday. There was a lot of swelling on his face and legs. He was just hurting from all of the burn over his body, but he made it through the night, and Sunday he got up and walked down the hall and said "just another stepping stone." The Doctors said he would be in the hospital for at least two weeks. But prayer makes a difference. We will keep you all updated.

On Friday Wilroy was cutting on a truck frame and he needed to turn it over. He used his bobcat to flip the truck over and the fork knocked a hole in the fuel tank. The cutting torch was on, when he flipped the truck the tire blew out and sprayed diesel on to him. At that time he ran and jumped in the pond to put the fire out. He was taken to Duncan hospital and then taken by Mediflight to Baptist Medical Center. He has 3rd degree burns on his right leg and both forearms. At this time we are not sure about his hands, but he is going to have skin graph Thursday April 17 on his leg. There will be a account set up at American Exchange Bank in Lindsay to help the family. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
